Privacy Policy

NeuronCanvas is a static, source-available educational site. The short version: there is no account system, no form on this site asks for personal information, and nothing here is sold to or shared with advertisers. The longer version is below.

What we don't collect

In short

No sign-up, no login, no forms. There's nothing here to submit personal information to.

We don't ask you to sign up, log in, or submit any personal information anywhere on this site. There are no comment sections, no newsletter forms, and no user accounts.

Local storage

In short

The site doesn't use your browser's local storage for anything today.

This site does not currently store anything in your browser's local storage. If that changes, for a feature like a saved preference, it will only ever hold a value that stays on your device and is never sent to any server, and this section will be updated to describe exactly what and why before that ships.

URL-based playground state

In short

Share links carry your network settings, not your identity.

When you use a "Share this setup" link, the dataset, activation function, and network shape you chose are encoded directly into the URL as query parameters, for example, ?dataset=spiral&layers=4-4. That URL only contains the configuration you set; it doesn't identify you, and it's only shared with people you choose to send the link to.

Hosting and server logs

In short

The host keeps ordinary technical logs, like every website does. Nothing is sold or profiled.

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider may collect standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. We don't separately access, sell, or build profiles from this data.

Analytics

In short

There are none today. If that changes, this page changes first, and the diff is public.

At the time of writing, this site runs no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind - no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, no session recording. If that ever changes (for example, to add privacy-respecting, non-personal aggregate analytics), this page will be updated first and the change will be visible in the site's public source history, since the whole project's source is publicly available.

Children's privacy

In short

Nothing is collected from anyone, so nothing is collected from children.

Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't knowingly collect it from children either. The site is safe for classroom use.

Changes to this policy

In short

The date at the top moves, and the exact change stays in the public commit history.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change, and, since this site's source is public, the exact diff will be visible in the project's public commit history.
